Wonky BP gets me high risk status….
My BP has been slightly elevated most of this pg. Since I had pre-e with the twins they’ve been keeping a close eye on it. At my apt yesterday it was higher than it had been and after resting/relaxing the bottom # went down but the top # went up. I’m also dilated to 1cm and starting to soften. My OB has decided she wants to consider me HR and start doing non-stress test 2xs a week and an amniotic fluid level check once a week.
![]() I’m pg with and getting ready for #6 while taking care of the other 5, I’ve been suffering from migraines more than usual, have all the “normal” pg pains for someone who’s had this many LO, YDS is getting dental surgery tomorrow and we’re preparing to move in a couple weeks (which means packing, cleaning and switching the kids’ school). Not to mention the Dr offices and Hospital are all an hr from our house and I will now be making that trip at least 2 times a week. How am I NOT to be stressed??? Come on my life right now is a recipe for HBP!! I keep telling myself it’ll all get much easier after Sat. That’s DH last day of work for 2 months. I’m so lucky to have such a wonderful and supportive DH!! He has really been going out of his way to try to make things easier on me and to make sure I’m getting enough rest (really hard with 3 LO at home all day and 2 in school) and not doing things that cause my hips, pelvic and cervix to hurt (like making dinner and doing laundry) all while he’s working 12hr shifts!! UGH! I’m 36w now and if I knew for sure he’d be ok I’d start trying to induce labor naturally. My ob said they wont stop labor at this point and I really doubt we’ll make it to January. |

Re: Wonky BP gets me high risk status….
(((hugs))) Wow, atleast you are already 36 weeks. I mean in 1 week you are considered term. So that's a plus at least. Having to drive for non stress tests sounds like NO fun. And twice a week? ugh.

Re: Wonky BP gets me high risk status….
I had "normal" BP the first 34 weeks..then it started elevating after that. I had to go in to my OB every other day just so that he could check it, some days it would be sky high, other days it would be just within the higher normal range.
My Dr. told me it was me stressing myself out, and I was. I was miserable and single and hated my now DH (ironically) for having to be a big pregnant mess, plus I had my 6 y/o DD as well. I had no other signs or pre-e and no previous with my DD pregnancy. I was just a pissed pregnant lady. But even now, happy little me still stresses when I get my BP taken with this pregnancy, I remember how much of a big deal they made it. ![]() P.S There's also a condition called "white coat syndrome" that they thought I had, but I was having my mom (who's a RN) monitor my BP at home as well and would call in the results to my OB, and it would still be high. It's a well known condition though.

Good luck mama! At least your DH will be around more after Saturday and who knows, maybe you'll be having this LO sooner than you think?

you will just have to try and relax, and that is so wonderful of your DH to take time off that will help out a bunch.
