Is my baby ready for table foods?
I'm a little confused about when I should start my 7 month old out on table foods. I've been trying to follow his developmental cues but I don't know what the cues are for a baby being ready for table foods (just so we're clear, I mean stuff that isn't mashed up). He's self feeding well with crackers and Cheerios, chews his food, and with a little help drinks from a sippy cup (I have to get it started for him). He also tries (and sometimes succeeds) in grabbing the spoon from me and tries to feed himself with it. Is it time to start on table foods or should I wait? And if I should wait, how will I know when he's ready for them?

I would try it, see how it goes. He sounds like he can master the fine art of eating fairly well, so you might be surprised! Just keep the bites small still and go from there =)
