How to get past the guilt

I am at a point of needing to wean my ds or at least at a point of needing to stop taking dom to make milk and I think that will end my nursing relationship with my son. We want to TTC #2 but my prolactin levels are so high from the dom that I can't ovulate. So, I need to stop the dom, and when I do my milk supply plummets to nothing. So, here I am having to make this choice and feeling so guilty. I have fought hard for this nursing relationship and I know it will not be hard to end it, but I still have the guilt.

SO to my big papa, stepmom to the fabulous Ben, and mama to my tornado of destruction, Haydn 3.2.07, my precious monkey Emerson 9.8.09 and my two angel babies 1.20.13 and 3.1.13, and cautiously with a miracle

Im at that point, not the ttc point but the weaning point, so I know how you feel. You are a good mama and you have to remind yourself that you got this far! Good luck!

I'm not TTC, but I'm thinking it's time to end. He'll be 2 in a about 2 weeks.

When I think about leading it, I cry.

Just remember that you gave him the best start you possibly could and that you have to make decisions for the whole family.

Weaning doesn't have a to be a negative thing as long as it is gentle for both you and your baby. Whatever the reasons behind weaning just make sure it is something you want to do and not something you are being pressured to do. By weaning slowly it not only lets your body physically prepare but it also lets you mentally prepare and hopefully you will be able to look back at your nursing relationship in a positive light.

Weaning just means you are entering another phase of parenting and leaving another phase behind. It is all bittersweet!
