Re: fondue anyone??

you should so do fondue- it had been a hit at every party I've had it at. I don't know which fondue pot you should go for but I would search for reviews online. here's our recipe for chocolate fondue:
24oz semi sweet chocolate coarsley chopped (or choc chips)
3 14 oz cans of sweetened condensed milk
1 cup whole milk.

In a heavy saucepan melt chocolate over low heat stirring constantly. Stir in condensed milk and whole milk. heat through then transfer to warmed fondue pot (if it starts to cool it will get uber-clumpy). We love to serve this with bits of plain donut, pound cake, pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, pretzels and marshmallows.

Home and Garden Party has a fondue pot. I just used mine at a craft show over the weekend. I just made the HGP chocolate fondue mix and then had graham cracker sticks and mini marshmallows for people to dip. It went over well.

Re: fondue anyone??

My mom has a to-die-for cheesecake fondue recipe. It is so good with fruit dipped in it. When I was pregnant I would eat a whole pot of the stuff; it was my biggest craving. OK, here it is:

Cheesecake Fondue

1/2 cup half & half (I've tried it with regular milk and it worked)
8 oz. cream cheese (full fat or 1/3 less fat, fat free will be lumpy)
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla
dash of nutmeg

Heat the half & half in a fondue pot till simmering. Cut cream cheese into 1/2 inch cubes and add to half and half, stirring till blended and completely melted. Mix in the sugar, lemon juice and vanilla then sprinkle with nutmeg.

Our favorite dipping fruits are bananas, grapes and canned manderine oranges. Also good are apples, peaches (fresh or canned), pineapple (fresh or canned), cake bites, or be creative.

My BF's all about the oil ones too which I hate for many reasons (clean up being one of them ) but that's what we do.
I love the cheeze and chocolate fondues, but I will def. be checking out the recipes listed here!

I know my mom made a mushroom one one year but she can't remember and told me I am crazy...if anyone know that recipe I'd love to have it

I don't have a recipe but my dad used to make bouillon fondu . He'd put beef bouillon and onion powder I think . It was excellent with red wine in there too ! I like the electric pots better .

Re: fondue anyone??

We definitely love fondue in this house. My favorite pot came from a second-hand store. I have a bunch of fondue cookbooks. Our faves are the cheese/wine and chocolate dessert ones.
