Why can't I add a banner??

I'm trying to add a banner to my siggy. I thought I clicked the landscape icon and paste in the text. When I do that the little box pops up with the red X.

Can you explain it "Inserting banner's for dummies" style?

Most banners are going to be too big for a signature. Siggy images can only be 150 pixels long and 50 px high at the largest. You can right-click on the image you're trying to put in and select "properties" to see the dimensions. Then if it's within the guidelines, you can right-click again and select "copy image location" and then put that in between [ img] and [ /img] (w/o the spaces).
