Help me please O SMART ONES

I got a bag of dried large limas and a bag of dried kidneys. I put them each in a large bowl and added water to about an inch over the beans. I let them soak 24hrs and they weren't soft. The large limas started kinda 'molting' right away.

I need help...pretty please

You still need to cook them.

Soaking them, gets the beans ready for cooking.

They stay hard until they're cooked.

I was just going to cook them and then freeze them in bags so I can make chili soon.

Cool. I should do that. I have bags of dried lima beans in the cupboard, but buy canned beans for chili. lol

Might I suggest the crockpot next time? No soaking needed. Just a bag of beans, 8-9 cups of water and cook all day. I didn't know about skipping that step until recently!

yep, crock pot! it also keeps the beans from disintegrating and getting mushy.
