Re: Top ten reasons not to circumcise your son

Yesterday I visited a friend of mine who just had a little boy this weekend. She asked about circ months ago and I told her I would never do it and sent her some info. She never said anything about it again, but they circ'd him. They parent much, much different than we do, so it doesn't really surprise me. I was hopeful though.

This happened to me recently too. I was upset. My friend knows why we didn't circ, knows its not necessary and harmful to the organ and did it anyways...

I really makes me sad b/c DH is in the middle of his restoration and says it already feels so much better. Just imagine what it would be like if his foreskin was never taken from him.

It's unfortunate when people do such harmful things, despite the information they have been given. Here's a good thing to read when you are feeling down about it:

The AAP is an interest group representing a profession. They would not advance or advertise a position that would harm the financial interests of their members, or possibly open them further to lawsuits.

So... I'm beaming and had to share!!
Awhile back some mama on DS shared something from The Art of Manliness blog. DH loved it and follows it. He really enjoys writing and saw that he can submit his own articles for publication. So he told me the other day we wants to do one about foreskin restoration!

He's been working on it the last few days but won't let me read it. I think he's being shy about it which is weird b/c he used to write for me all.the.time. we I was on the comp and went looking for the article and its so great. He basically gives me all the credit to keeping DS intact and how he didn't want to admit it at first but he's so glad I didn't back down. He's not done but he's moving on to how DS's penis made him feel like he was missing something and how he was introduced to foreskin restoration.

If he gets published you better believe i'll post a link!!
Thanks for reading I just HAD to share!

The same thing happened to my friend's son. They nicked a vein and actually had to stop the procedure because of the bleeding and went back to finish it months later. And she still made a comment (after the initial procedure) about how gross intact penises are and how she wouldn't change what she did if she could go back and stop her son from being circumcized
