I just wanted to say how thankful I am right now that my son is intact. He just got over a crazy staph infection that took over most the skin on his little body. He was hospitalized for almost a week. Had he been circ'd and the site had not healed by the time he got the infection, it would have very likely traveled to his blood stream and we could have had a much different outcome.

That's scary to think about! How's he doing? Those pictures were heart breaking.

He's doing amazing now. All healed up, just has to get his pigment back.

Re: Top ten reasons not to circumcise your son

I am happy to report that my friend who is expecting a baby boy is not circumcising. She was never planning on it, but I got up the nerve to ask her about it and sent her some links.

She said she was going to look at the links I sent her just to update her own information.

This baby boy is a "big surprise" as she's in her early 40's and has three girls, 18, 13, 11!

I am so excited for her and her family!

She said they are planning a homebirth, she homebirthed all three of her girls too.

She lives in New Mexico where I lived for 10+yrs but we moved to TX two years ago. I miss having a RL friend that shares parenting styles, sigh.

Tonight we went to visit hubby's friend and his wife. They have a 9 month old son and were talking about his surgery Monday. Apparently he wasn't circed correctly and he has to go back it is bad enough this poor baby had to go through it once but now twice I wanted to take him home with me and save him. The dad was like it prevents UTIs for him
