im not sure if this would work in a teeny infant, as im not sure if they would sweat enough.
it will work in a newborn.

Yeah I was like licking her everyday! I thought she did but hubby said she didn't. I guess she didn't and I was just scared or thinking the worst.

Re: Pos CF test, anyone?

Oh just saw this thread.. well searched for it.. my 7 week olds newborn screening just came back POS for CF as well... but my older DD has lots of symptoms and issues so it wouldn't suprise me at all..maybe help explain her.. but we go Friday for more tests... sooo hopefully ours is also a false pos..

Re: Pos CF test, anyone?

Yeah there are a lot of false positives on the newborn test. I know someone it happened to and the sweat test was negative as well.

Re: Pos CF test, anyone?

The CF portion of the newborn screening is deliberately set to have a small amount of false positives. I can't recall immediately what it tests for. Its not a DNA test. But the reason its set for some false positives is that its at a treshold where borderline results trip it so that borderline but has CF cases don't fall through undetected.

As IndyStef said, it is not the end of the world. My CF child will be 7 this month and I find it much harder to live with some of his other issues versus his CF.
