Exclamation ISO Good pocket or AIO/AI2 for DS with fleece allergy

DS has a fleece allergy so he can't wear the fuzzi bunz I got him I am trying to find a good pocket style or AIO/AI2 that does not have fleece against the skin, but doesn't keep him skin wet (very sensitive skin). He is a very active 2 yr old and a heavy wetter. We go through disposies @ the rate of 1 dipe every 1.5 to 2 hours and he is still rashed out. I am semi-new to CDing so it is still very confusing to me as to which dipes are made out of which materials and what ones keep wettness off skin. I am willing to try fitted/prefolds etc, but again, concerned about his skin being wet. I almost think he is allergic to his own pee! Even sitting in a wet dipe for 5 min breaks him out! What would be a good dipe for his situation? Affordability is an issue too.

Sassy Turtle Threads does a great AI2. She can do suedecloth. Wonderoos have suedecloth. Magicalls have suedecloth.

First thought is www.snap-ez.com. They are a bit more $ than FB, but made extremely well. She has suedecloth as an option. and I think velour too.

www.wigglewormbottoms.com has these covers with a thing called a sleeve, that you can stuff. They have suedecloth as an option for the sleeve, and something else, but I can't think of it! Her prices are good. less than a FB!

Is it just fleece, or is it poly that he's allergic to? Suedecloth is poly too, so that might not work either. You might have to use something that's not quite as stay-dry like velour for the inner.

Personally, I LOVE LOVE LOVE velour - it's soooo soft, I don't mind that it's not totally stay-dry.

If you're going to buy something with suedecloth, I'd suggest buying only one to check, before investing a mint into dipes that won't work, kwim?

All I know is that he breaks out in a rash whenever he wears fuzzi bunz, the fleece allergy was suggested to me, he has never had any problems with clothing (thought I think most are cotton). I love fuzzi bunz and want something similar in ease without his bottom suffering.

I am starting to suspect that my dd has a sensitivity to fleece. She gets less redness if she is just in a plain old cotton fitted or prefold. Although they don't keep wetness from the skin, it hasn't been an issue for us, as long as I change often. Have you tried those?

I have tried some DSQ gerber prefolds and soem flats but they fell off, I guess I am not folding them correctly, I saw a site that had instructions, but ti was still confusing. I am willing to try though!

Magicalls are suedecloth? Mine looks like flannel in the inner... maybe it is older?

I agree with Meg (ontariommma) velour is great. I just made an AI2 for another ds momma with velour cause she didnt want a fleece inner also. It turned out very nice!

bumGenius are suedecloth and you can try it and then if it doesn't work for his poor bum, at least you're not out the money. They have a 14-day guarantee. Just like FBs in the aspect that they're pockets so you stuff 'em, but they've got snaps to adjust the rise (to make 'em one-size-fits-all) and then they're aplix/velcro instead.
