Re: Do you cover up when NIP?

I cover with a blanket that is wrapped around my waist because NO ONE needs to see my belly.

I could care less about flashing a boob.

I wear a nursing tank because I'd hate for anyone to see my muffin top.

I NIP without a cover. I nursed in the booth when I voted!

Re: Do you cover up when NIP?

i SO dont want my tummy showing, ugh. Plus, ry is highly distractible, so i cover to a certain extent, otherwise i'd get cold, tense up and the process would take even longer lol. But for the most part, Riley wont NIP.

I STILL have to wear them too! There have been a few days where I can go without the at home when he nurses constantly. I tried going out one day because the day before and the night I didn't need any and that day I didn't need any but go figure I would need one right before I was going home. And my son is 4 months old.

Re: Do you cover up when NIP?

I don't use a cover.... my thot has always been don't look if you don't like the idea of me nursing (Yes #2DS is still nursing at 17mos)

#2ds latchs on and does not let off till he is done ... i have nursed right in front of my dad, both FILs and both MILs and 2 brother in laws and a sister in law and none of them clued in.... i had them a few times ask me if i wanted to lay him down since he look like he was going to sleep ....

and needless to say i don't have small boobs when i am nursing
(yes i am normally wearing a motherhood nursing top)

Re: Do you cover up when NIP?

I voted "depends," because after 7 weeks of first time nursing, I'm still working on feeling comfortable doing it in public. The only time I've seen a mama NIP around here was at a LLL meeting (which was also the only place I've seen a mama BW). Around close friends and family, I nurse without a cover, but in restaurants, for example, I cover DS's head. The thing is, I really want to just NIP and not worry about bothering other people with a little boob flash at times - I hate feeling like I'm hiding what is a natural behavior. Maybe posting this message and thinking about it a little more will push me toward doing it sans cover.

Re: Do you cover up when NIP?

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that goes coverless! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being "inappropriate"!

I thought it was funny at the nurse-in that all these "Lactivists" were out there trying to make a statement that NIP is natural and nothing to hide, and then they all had nursing covers on.

Oh and I saw an awesome saying the other day: "If you are offended by me feeding my baby, you are welcome to cover YOUR head with a blanket"

Never cover up, baby dosen't like it and I can't be bothered. Although I am sure I can find something to cover a complaining passerbys head with if he/she has a problem with it!

Re: Do you cover up when NIP?

I did with my first, but not with my second or third. I personally like to wear nursing tops, like the camisoles, to make it easier to be discreet, but that's about it.
