Cloth diapering is not cheaper!

Hi,
I have just started CDing my 17 month year old due to a long string of issues with allergies from sposies.

I was totally dreading doing this, as I HATE laundry. But I felt like it would be best for my son, so I bought some AIO diapers, then some pockets, and gave it a try. Well, I totally love cloth diapering. It is so much easier than I expected, and I haven't even minded the laundry.

One thing I did think, though, is that I would save tons of money since I was buying high-end environmentally friendly sposies. Well, now I am addicted to the fluff and keep buying different things to try. Even buying on sale, I have spent WAY more than I would have in many months of sposies.

Hi, it'll probably be cheaper in the long run, especially if you use them on another child. When you get finished buying things then you don't need to buy any more, or at least not much.

We've only been doing this about four months and we're already saving money. But we have a very basic stash and I made most of it. I wanted to start seeing some savings sooner rather than later!

Welcome! You're not alone, I've spent about $600 in cloth diapers and I keep thinking I can't believe this is saving money. Luckily you can resell, however if your diapers are like mine, most of mine have stains on them. I just don't have the time to scrub out the stains and we don't get much sun here. We do plan on having another baby though so I am hoping I don't go crazy and start buying again. It's very addicting.

I have to say too cloth diapering is so much easier than I expected too! I work full time and I can still do it. It's really not that much extra time.

Shhhh, don't tell anyone about the addiction part before they have come to "our" side...and certainly don't tell the DH's about it! As if they don't know, right? My DH thinks I am a nut and could use some counseling!

It does get cheaper though, I'm on my second kid so now all my diapers are paying for themselves.

Not sure if it will get cheaper...but I do know it becomes more self satisfying!! For instance, for some crazy reason I wanted organic diapers for Christmas....not a high end expensive purse, not a diamond ring, but some cute organic diapers for my dd....now that in my opinion is CRAZY. It doesn't get cheaper, it only becomes an addiction or obsession...but one that you'll LUV
