Re: would you nurse someone elses child?

Yes, I would for sure! Once I watched my nephew & he was so sad, he wanted me to nurse him so badly (he was prolly almost 1yr), that I nursed him for a second & then was too worried since I hadn't asked my sister... I told her later that if that ever happened again, I'd figure I had her permission by the fact that she left him with me... & she said she actually had figured I would nurse him...

I also asked my sister to nurse Zander if anything happened to me... she watched him one night though & when we went to pick him up, he was crying & I asked her why she didn't nurse him & she said because that agreement was only for if I died... silly sister...

Of course. No question about it. I've even caught myself going to lift up my shirt when holding someone else's baby (I'm around babies as part of my profession), only to look down to think, "Oops! You're not mine!" LOL If only someone else could nurse my very attached booby girl sometimes (I so wish her dad could!), I'd be too happy to have that happen!

I voted yes, but it all depends on whos child it is, as I would only let a couple people nurse ds if needed

Re: would you nurse someone elses child?

Before dd was born, I thought, "Of course I'd nurse another child - no problem!" but now that I've nursed, I now how intimate that bond is. It feels strange to think of nursing someone else's child, and even stranger to think of someone else nursing dd.

That said, I would do it if a friend was in need for some reason (in the hospital, etc.) and would hope that if my dd was ever in need, a friend would do it for me. But I probably wouldn't do it just as a normal part of babysitting.

Re: would you nurse someone elses child?

My old pastor's wife actually asked me if I would if she ever needed me to. I said yes. I think that it's okay to do as longas both parties are on board.

Re: would you nurse someone elses child?

Yep! Offered to nurse the neighbor's baby when she had mastitis and her 6 weeks old wouldn't nurse hard enough to make it let down, also offered to let her nurse Sage since, at 16 months, she could really have helped. However, neighbor is a very mainstream nurse who wasn't sre she wanted to be nursing her own baby let alone someone elses toddler! So needless to say, it didn't happen.

Re: would you nurse someone elses child?

When we adopted my daughter my best friend was nursing her baby, and we talked alot about her nursing DD. I would do it for someone, but I dont' know if I would want just anyone nursing my child.
