Cold Wash and Hot wash then extra rinse - HE machine + Powdered detergent

Just curious how you would do this with a HE machine and Powdered Laundry detergent. I didn't think powdered did well with cold water?

Or should I just skip the cold wash and do a cold rinse, hot wash and extra rinse?

Thanks

I use powdered Tide on my diapers with an HE. here is my wash routine:
I set my machine to delicates, prewash, extra rinse (cold pre rinse, hot wash, cold rinse). I use about 3/4 of the way up to the 1 line of tide and add some calgon b/c I have hard water. That is it. Simple as pie and clean smelling diapers, too =)

Re: Cold Wash and Hot wash then extra rinse - HE machine + Powdered detergent

I use powdered Tide HE in my tromm
delicate cold/cold quick cycle no spin- no detergent
perm press hot/cold cycle with 2-3 tbsp detergent extra rinse no spin
delicate warm/cold quick cycle no detergent
dry on low 60 minutes

btw- I do those cycles because they use the most water and that helps to get them clean- my machine wont do hot on the delicate cycle

I just do the cold rinse-hot wash-extra rinse.
I've never used powder HE (hard to find) but this is my routine with liquid.
I don't think there would be much of a difference.

I'd like to use Country Save detergent- the powdered stuff.

I appreciate the feedback. I'll start off by trying the cold rinse, hot wash, extra rinse!

I tried the powder in my he years ago and it didn't dissolve well. I am going to try it again as it has probably improved. Country save didn't clean as well. Also, I think a cold rinse is enough.
