needs some new ideas for left over Turkey Breast and Baked Ham
I am trying to stretch out the meat in the freezer, so that i hopefully will not have to go meat shopping before we leave for holidays in mid feb. While we were inventory the freezer stash i realized i have a huge container of left over ham and a whole large turkey breast (and a bag of cranberries i forgot about on christmas day)
I needs some new ideas on what to do with them. I know for sure with the small bit and left over i will make a few pots of soup, but it's the rest i am stumped fore |

I just found a sweet and sour ham recipe with pineapple and rice that sounds yummy.
http://www.aliciasrecipes.com/Recipe...d-Sour-Ham.htm Or I do that hashbrown casserole and add ham to it. HTH!

We chop the turkey in a food processor and then add some mayo, cheese, seasoning (whatever you want..instead of the mayo you could do cream cheese....or go a complete different direction and add sketti sauce) Then we unfold crescents into a square (2 triangles...) Roll it all up in a "pouch" and bake. Kinda turns out like turkey hot pockets.
We also shred it with gravy...but we eat it over biscuits...or toast if that is all we have. We NEVER have left over ham.....Once the glaze is done, my family can't get enough.... Although sometimes I do set some aside for bean soup.

Re: needs some new ideas for left over Turkey Breast and Baked Ham
As far as the ham goes you can dice into cubes( or if it is shredded that is fine) and use it in a rice mixture with alittle cilantro and flavoring. Here is what I do:
Cook rice with some onion and garlic for flavor. Add ham in a skillet with some butter, chopped cilantro, and onion. Sautee until onions are well cooked and everything is well heated. Mix rice and ham mixture together and you have a meal. I have prepared this several times for my family and for my SIL(who is a picky eater)'s family and all had clean plates. HTH! |
