Anyone Gluten-free?
I've been reading a VERY interesting book called "the gluten connection" and how gluten sensitivities can be linked from gas and bloating clear to ADHD, migraines and heart problems.
Is anyone here GF? Can I ask why you started? How is it going? Do you have any yummy recipes? We are going to go GF and see if it helps DH's migraines and stomach problems.

Re: Anyone Gluten-free?
A while back we thought my son (who has autism and ADHD) was celiac (gluten intoreance) so we did the gluten wheat free diet. We found out he isn't , but seems to have less symptoms on the diet. If you have a whole foods near you, they have tons of food, but I have to warn you in the begining some of it is yucky. It is easier if the whole family does it too, but very hard. There are some good recipes at www.celiac.com

Our family is mostly living gfcf (gluten and casein free). There are lots of great websites out there with yummy recipes and even several yahoogroups too. Making things from scratch is the way to go.....I buy a few gfcf staple type foods at a healthfood store like whole foods, but one could go broke shopping there for everything. So I get the rest of the food at other grocery stores. Here is 1 site I particularlly love, they have easy kid friendly recipes...
http://gfcfrecipes.com/ The pancakes are so yummy, especially made with almond milk (If avoiding milk). The stir fry dish and chicken nuggets are yummy as well. Lots of food have hidden gluten in it as well be sure to read labels. Here is one site that given many specific gfcf brands and where to buy them and other important info. http://www.tacanow.com/dietinfo.htm http://www.dallasrock.org/pdf/SchoolGFList.pdf Here is 2 helpful yahoogroups http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/GFCFKids/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/GFCFrecipes/ It is hard but it is something one can do.....it's a whole family change. Both my kids were 100% off of it and I saw huge improvements, unfortunately we've goofed up and they've both had a bit back into their diets daily and I'm seeing more behavior issues arise again. Best wishes. Janel
