My first is 4 weeks old today, and we just came home to mom's house. I've been changing him on the bed, with the supplies stacked on a bedside table - not optimal!

When I was researching cloth I kept thinking, it made sense to have the changing stuff in the bathroom. But my bathroom is so small, there is no room for a changing table.

Besides, I've got back problems and the height of most changing tables is a problem.

So I got this at IKEA: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70143208. It's just as wide as a toilet, so it'd fit in any bathroom.

Having the hot water right there was the main idea, for wipes. The diaper pail, trash, and toilet are right below so everything even the flushable liners I'll use later, can be dropped right away (wonder how many times I'll drop the wrong thing in the wrong place?)

Our first day home I found another benefit to the placement: with the tiny bathroom, I can jump in the shower and still have one hand on baby, if a sudden mess gets very out of hand! It's also handy for after baths, to set him there, keep one hand on him, and finish drying myself.

Keeping the heat on in there, with the door closed, also helps cut down his fussing during diaper changes, or for after-bath dressing.

I just wish sometimes I were a man because then I could pee and change the baby at the same time!
Love this! Very smart for those of us with small bathrooms. I may have to convince my husband we need this!

Re: How is your diaper station set up? Long post with lots of pictures

Here's some pics of our changing station set up. This works for us but my LO is quickly outgrowing the changing table so we often do changes on the floor in her room.

Changing Area

Pocket Storage w/ prefolds for stuffing

Top Drawer- stores PUL covers and diapering accessories

Bottom Drawer- stores wipes, burp cloths, flats and wool soakers

Top row of baskets (from L to R)- basket w/MEOS, basket w/ GMD browns, small basket w/sposies and wipes (yes I use these on rare occasions )

Bottom row of baskets (from L to R)- basket w/asst. snappiable fitteds, basket w/ woolies

Wetbags- small holds non-poopy PUL covers/shells, large holds non-poopy PFs fitteds (I have an XL hanging pail in bathroom for all things poopy)

Maizy giving you a tour of her diaper storage area

Thanks for looking and I hope this helps those of you in search of a setup that works.

I'm new to cloth diapering and I just love seeing how other people's diaper stations are set up! I can't wait until I have mine all up and running.

Thanks for all the photos!

I think the brand is Pali...I bought it off of Craigslist for $50 before DD#1 was born. I found the matching crib for $100 shortly after. I <3 Craigslist.
