Re: Talk to me about BIBS...

I have a 17 mo old that is very efficient at feeding himself, so I can just get the ones that slip over their head at wal-mart. Now bear in mind that he can take it off but usually refrains from doing so until he is done eating. It's one of the ways that he lets us know that he is finished. The crumb catcher is one that he would never let me put on him, but they are a good concept. And they are cute to boot! Good luck on your bib search.

i prefer the pullover type as well. i made all of dd's with a waterproof PUL layer or fleece backing so her shirts stayed clean and dry(i hate messes )

Re: Talk to me about BIBS...

I had a kiddopotamus bib and I LOVED IT!!! But I put it in the dishwasher and it melted.

I got 2 I Play bibs and they're great! Pocket catches food and they have long-ish sleeves.

I don't use bibs with ds. When eats some super messy ( like spagetti) I just take his shirt off.

Re: Talk to me about BIBS...

I like "towel bibs" (that have the shirt collar opening, not snaps) because DD is less likely to take them off (though she still does, but not as often) and they have excellent coverage. I don't have a specific brand, but you can find them on HC and at practically any store that sales bibs. We tried the rinse and roll bib, but DD could not stand it... We had the bumkin's ones for a while, but DD would immediately take them off and they were harder to keep clean (and all of mine mildewed...). WE even had snaps put on the bumkins ones, but that didn't slow DD down...

Re: Talk to me about BIBS...

IKEA has a brilliant bib that has a pocket and has 3/4 length sleeves so the food doesn't get on the clothes at all!

Bumkins, we love them.

My son rips them off but I pin them at the neck

Cute prints, wash well, dry super quick, not too pricey, don't wick/leak

Re: Talk to me about BIBS...

Kiddopotamus..DD does great with them. And she collects the falling food in her bib and eats it when her tray is empty!

They are great for on the go. I was so sick of forgetting a bib and then it was moldy and got tossed out. Now we clean it up with wipes before we leave the restaurant and it's all good!

My DS was doing that too, so I put a snap through each side of the velcro and now he can't get them off.

I never found pocket-bibs worked that well, maybe because my DS is short, so the bib just ended up on the high-chair tray. We use waterproof bibs, and lay the bottom out on the tray and put his plate/bowl on top of the bib and it works pretty well for containing mess.
