I'm a pretty new knitter too, but everything I've made has been in the round. I think it's a lot easier, and it's nice not to have to purl so much.
Any suggestions of an "easy" in the round pattern?

Morning mamas! I'm almost to the halfway point with my hat that seems like it's taking weeks . . wait it has been two so far.
It's a Monday and we have a V-day dance for the students Sat. They are already nuts with anticipation. It's like a mini prom for them I've never seen anything like it!

love the title!! Welcome everyone!! I am getting ready to snap some WIP pics.

On another note, can I just for a min. DD is only 3.5 months old and AF is trying to show her ugly face.

My stitches are looking really nice on my test swatches and I'm hoping that by the weekend I am ready to move to a soaker :yippie:

I hope I can join in with you I've loved woolies for months and am excited at the prospect of making my own
Welcome!

the yarn colorway is "toadstool" BFL. I used the free tiny birds soaker pattern because it was free and a flat design. I am going to try an "in the round" next time.

Any suggestion? Thanks!
It looks awesome! The soaker pattern I use is knit flat and then kitchener'd together. I really liked the picky pants pattern for shorties and longies

I am positively giddy because this is coming to my house. I had an old, ugly home made one that I've been using, until my kids broke it beyond repair this weekend. I'd put off ordering a really nice one because I couldn't justify it - the old ugly one worked just fine, kwim?

Anyway, I finally had an excuse to justify buying a new one and I fell in love with that one. I can't wait for it to come!!
That is so nice. I really need to get my wheel out and start spinning again.

that is so pretty!

Morning! I had a great knitting day yesterday. Am almost done with my goblin shorties-- working on the icord now after weaving in all the ends and kitchenering the gusset during the super bowl last night, and am to the second leg on a pair of scrappy longies I also want to start a juliette skirty for dd when I get both of these off the needles

Dd and I are heading to story hour at barnes and noble in a bit.

Go to your local library and check out a kids can knit or a beginning knitter book. That's what I did! They explain everything. . .except for guage and yarn size in the book I had. . . so the first time I tried this hat is was big enough to go around dh's waist!

You did a great job! Now knitting in the round is easier than flat knitting so yes you want to try it.
