Anyone make their own Peanut Butter?

Anyone make their own peanut butter? If so how do you do it?

Its soo easy, basically we just buy some unsalted roast peanuts, toss them in the oven to warm them up. Once warmed throw them in a food processor (we use our magic bullet) then add a few teaspoons of oil (preferably peanut oil) and salt to taste. If you want chunky don't grind as much and remove some big chunks before making the peanut butter then throw them back in.

We've done some with honey too..yum!

I have never made it myself but I used to go to a health food store and make it myself. All they had was a machine that ground up the peanuts. It was really cool. They had peanuts in the top of the machine and you just pushed the button and the machine ground up the peanuts. Nothing else added. Then I just stored it in the fridge. It was a little thick but I'd say that adding a little oil of some sort when I got home would have helped it not be so thick and would make it more smooth. I wonder if a food processor would be ruined if tried in that? Hmmm...

Oh. One question. Do you have to store it in the fridge?

We always do. Keep in mind it will separate occasionally. I just flip the air tight container over every once and a while.

OOOO I wanna try this! I just bought some all natural peanut butter and it's kind of nasty. I like being able to make things the way I like them! Thanks for sharing!
