Re: Eczema getting worse, and suggestions

Only thing that really worked for ds, ahose skon woult ooze and sometimes bleed too..was aquaphor after every bath then directly into tight cotton pj's...we did it on the nights he did not get baths too...have heard bad things about elidel, possibly a cancer risk? my dd used it for when it first came out..i prefer a non "medicine" kind of cream..

Re: Eczema getting worse, and suggestions

I used head n shoulders intensive treatment on one fosterbaby, and alpha keri on another to wash them followed with Keri lotion while still damp. I just discovered bag balm and that works really well too.

My DS was allergic to Soy....I still BF and if I have any Soy at all it can get bad so if you do you might wanna check what is in your diet that might be doing it. Cetaphill and Aquaphor was what we ended up doing to help, but in the long run once I found out it was the soy and stopped eating it he's been fine....I hope you figure it out soon .

Re: Eczema getting worse, and suggestions

my two red heads have eczema- but you would never know it! We use no creams ro any other topical treatment. I give them Pau D'arco tincture- although there is also a cream made from the same stuff that lots of people use along with the tincture. I give them a teaspoom drooper ful everyday and they are good to go! My friend who found out about this wonderful stuff from her midwife gives her kiddos a half teaspoonful in their juice 3x a day. Her kids have it WAYYYYY worse- head to toe- she also uses the cream when needed but often does not need to.
I hope you try it!!!!...Minda

That is the best thing we have found and I am a firm believer in it. An old knee high nylon stocking works great. I got a bunch at the dollar store. It seriously works! Also the natural baby eczema cream that someone else mentioned from Walgreens is great too!

Good luck... definately try the oatmeal though... it's great!

Re: Eczema getting worse, and suggestions

Thank you everyone. Lots of great ideas. I knew you all would come through for us! I'd like to try the natural products first. I do know he's allergic to milk and we already avoid milk, but maybe he has more allergies than that. I'm going to try the bath and follow with several lotions mentioned. I tried wrapping his hands, but he wouldn't keep them on, (he's 19 months old).

Thank you again. I've got a list now of things to try.
