Maybe labor? What do you think??

I'm 38wks 4days-

Last night I was having contractions and started timing them and they were like every 12-15minutes and lasting about a minute each from about 10pm on. They petered out or maybe I just slept through them, not sure which, but they picked up around 3am again and went through the morning about every 10min or so, and now seem to be coming and going again. Hopefully things progress, I'd really rather go into labor on my own than be induced on tuesday. They're aren't painful or anything either, just real tight and uncomfortable. They're stronger than the Bh's I'm used to though, so I would think they're real contractions, but woman have been known to be tricked, so I don't know I guess. I've NEVER had anyuthing consistant like this though-they've been going pretty consitantly from about 10pm last night, so hopefully it's the beginning of labor, my bh's were always few and far between, and never consistant at all I'd just get one here, and one there, kwim? I wish my water would just break, no mistaking that....lol.. Does this sound like the beginning of the real deal? I'm going to go walk at the mall and see what happens.

Could be real, hard to say. Keep on moving and see if they intensify.

Why would you be induced so early?

Re: Maybe labor? What do you think??

I'm 40 weeks + 2 days. I've had similar contractions going on for five days now. I had BH contractions now and then for a couple of weeks. Then a few days ago, I started getting stronger contractions that kept me from sleeping at night. On Friday, during the day, I had contractions and after my weekly appointment, my doctor sent me to be monitored for two hours at the hospital just in case I was going into labor.

Nope - I am at least 4cm dilated and I'm having contractions every 2-8 minutes but they aren't getting stronger, more regular, or closer together. The hospital sent me home and said to try to get some rest and keep an eye out for my water breaking. They are expecting that I'll go into labor sometime within the next few days but nothing yet.

The contractions I currently have intensify when I walk around. I'm hoping that if I walk around today more, that maybe my water will break or contractions will really kick in - we'll see.

Off to do some walking - good luck, AshB...I hope that labor is right around the corner for you!

With "real labor" the contractions continue even if you are resting...so as long as you are still feeling the baby move, my advice to you is to drink a big glass of h2o, eat a light meal and put your feet up if you can! As we all know...labor is hard work!

I'll be 39wks then. So it's not that early, but I have GD and baby is measuring really large, 95th %ile, like 10lbs big. I've been dilated 3-4 for a few weeks too.

Your body is getting ready, when it is it you will know. Almost everyone does.
