Re: Big Wool Keeps on Turning...Wednesday

I'm knitting Aiden longies for Cara, and packing to go on a mini road trip to my parents' house tomorrow. It's just 5 hours away, but packing is a major undertaking with 3 kids.

I really like Copper Patina. I don't know what I'd make with it. How much do you have coming?

Oh man. i logged off right as this was posting! they turned out wonderfully!!!!

on a side note, this colorway was almost called "shag carpet" because it almost looks like my grams carpet from the 70's in her old house but i went with my better judgement on them. glad i did

I'm going to have to ask Andrea if I can steal that picture. Man, is she talented!

Thank you so much for explaining gauge to me. That way it makes perfect sense. Seriously, you have no idea how long I've struggled over that concept

I'm using the adorabubble knits pattern. I did not change needle size though, for the waistband, so that makes sense now that I think about it. I start at the legs and then go up, so the decreases are for the waistband, but I'm still doing something wrong. I'm going to try the sheepy pants pattern too, maybe it'll "speak" to me more. But I've heard it fits smaller and my boys are giant.
Aimee...i suggest switching patterns. While Mel is WONDERFUL at what she does, perhaps that is not the best pattern for a beginner. I suggest trying the Sheepy Pants or even the aubreydoodle pants which are both easy-peasy.
