Many of you probably saw my thread disclosing the problems we've had breastfeeding. I was contemplating quitting because we've been through so, so much.... But I just can't! Even if my supply never comes all the way up and we always have to supplement I will do everything in my power to keep giving her at least some mommy's milk every day. She got up this morning and I gave her 2oz of formula, then she nursed for about 15 minutes on each side, then 2 oz more of formula. Normally in the mornings she eats 6-8oz of formula, so this is a start! She latched really well with the nipple shield and it felt great to have her at my breast again! Now I am pumping and we'll nurse more in a bit when she's hungry. I just placed an order for a Medela SNS, and emailed my local LLL leader. I'm having mother's milk tea, oatmeal, and fenugreek for breakfast this morning. I can do this! I feel very empowered his morning

Good for you!!! Just keep going. I had some major struggles with the twins and as much as I often wanted to give up, I just couldn't let myself. I just kept on going and kept on trying. We have delt with everything from inability of the twins to latch to infections and pain to low supply issues. My twins are almost 14 months and still nursing and going strong!!! You can do it!

I would suggest to try putting her to breast 1st for 15 minutes to get your supply up and going to what she needs. then offer her the bottle to see how much she actually needs. If you give her 2 oz, she may take all of it just because it keeps coming out freely.
I dont think that a baby ever gets as much from a breast as a bottle, so you dont want her to get frustrated that she can get 4 oz from a bottle, kwim?
