Can I just say that I am exhausted!

Mamas, I am tired. I am a full time grad student, wife, and mama to 3. My dh goes to school during the day and works at home in the evening.

I take the kids to school/daycare, go to school/see patients, pick the kids up, and go through the entire nightly routine by myself. I have to help my odd with homework, unpack her backpack, unpack the cds/bottles from daycare, review the daycare sheets, make dinner, bathe the kids, get them ready for bed, and put them down for the night. All the while, I have to keep the kids quiet because he is working as a customer service rep answering the phones for a local credit union.

I am not getting good sleep. My ds wakes at least 3 times a night. I have tried to get him to sleep more but it just isn't happening. My odd is having a few difficulties in her 1st grade class with her behavior. My ydd often cries when I leave her at daycare and my ds always cries. My house is an absolute wreck. Everytime I try to talk to dh about it, instead of listening, he tries to fix it with unrealistic expectations.

I am stressed. I am exhausted. There is no end in sight.

I would do my best to find a sitter and have a sleeping day (and I'm not even kidding!). It sounds very much like you guys need a mental health day. I can completely understand it not being feasible immediately, right there w/ you on the exhaustion, but I DO look forward to 1 day in March that I will get to sleep.

Oh i'm so sorry Amy, I had no idea just how busy you were/are. I hope today helps you relax a bit(being at the playdate that is). School can't be easy with all the extra stuff you have to do. Let me know if you need anything.

wow. I can't even imagine. I thought I was busy. Is there any way you can get a sitter and just get some SLEEP, like another mama suggested? You really need it. I really hope your DS starts sleeping better soon too. *hugs*

Re: Can I just say that I am exhausted!

Yes. Yes, you can just say you're exhausted!

One thing that helped with my husband listening was for me to explain to him that he IS helping by listening! I think a lot of men want to fix things, and it causes strife when we women just want them to listen (not saying that's everyone's situation, just one I've often seen among my friends!) So, when I explain that just listening is what he can do to help me, he tries hard to just listen.

I need a nap from just reading your post! OMG!! Your poor DH is probably thinking he is being helpful with his "solutions" right? Oh mama I hope you can find a way to make it work. This is way too much and your health doesn't seem to appear on that list of to dos anywhere. HUGS!

Re: Can I just say that I am exhausted!

my mom said the other day "You know, if Amy ever needs a break and she's ok with it - we could have the kids over for the night, I just wonder how Jack would deal with it"

so, we could have a sleep over with your babies if you need a break
