pots and pans -your favorite?

what is your favorite pots and pans?
i have tried several non-stick crap - that the coating just gets scratched one times and then flakes off more and more, and gets tossed.

i also have a few of the copper bottoms - but they stick

i want some pots and pans that dont stick, but dont have (i guess) it is teflon on them (that flakes)

also, what do you use for cookie sheets and cake pans? i use my cakes pans a lot for baking my roasts and chicken. but they (again) get scratched and then start to flake or rust.
my cookie sheets rust - or get they like stain. i cant ever get them nice and clean.

Le Creuset is great for cooking too. I love my Le Creuset dutch oven.

That said, I personally don't buy expensive cookware. Anything Le Creuset I have was a gift. I buy inexpensive cookware from Meijer and take really good care of it (don't let non-stick stuff get scratched). I've found that it works just as good as my expensive stuff.

It does kind of depend on what you cook though. If you are making crepes, you want something that heats really really evenly. If you're cooking hamburger for tacos, you can do that in anything. lol

Most people and most food does not require really good quality pots and pans. I can make soup in my Le Creuset dutch oven, or my big pot from Ikea and it comes out the same.

Stainless will not stick if you keep the heat lower and put just a bit of olive oil (or similar) in the pan

We have some all clad that we really like, but my favorite is enameled cast iron.... Mario Batali brand, I think? Le Creuset is nice, but way spendy.

I agree with what you are saying, but I have to say that for me good quality pots and pans are a life time investment. I have my pots now for 15 years and they are still like new. My cheaper stuff has been replaced and in the long run I think it is cheaper to buy high quality. I cook a lot, it is a hobby actually. I love the dutch oven from Le Creuset, it is heavy tho.
