Re: pots and pans -your favorite?
Recently got enamelled cast iron and glass. Love them. Can't recommend it enough!
The enamelled cast iron can be expensive, but there are great sales once in a while. DH got my dutch ovens (2.5 qt, 5 qt and 7 qt) from Macy's the day after Black Friday for 65% off I think it was... Worked out to all 3 being the same price as what the one 7 qt would have cost alone regularly. Also enamelled cast iron: I got my frying pan from QVC for $18, as well as a Rachel Ray every day skillet/pan that I don't like as much that MIL bought me for $34. I have 2 Visions glass pots for quick or small stuff like soup or frozen veggies, I bought them at the Corningware/Pyrex outlet near me, so got a good price there too! ETA: And I use a ton of glassware for my baking.

Re: pots and pans -your favorite?
All Clad - all the way!
If you live in the Southwestern PA area (or are willing to travel), they have a seconds sale twice a year with amazing savings. All Clad is made in Canonsburg, PA and their seconds usually only have a small scratch on them and are completely functional! |

Re: pots and pans -your favorite?
i love my stainless steel copper bottoms, you just need to take some time to figure out the tricks. i.e. with eggs turn it lower after i add the butter then eggs and it works well for me. if something sticks then you just soak it for 20 mins and it cleans right up

Re: pots and pans -your favorite?
We primarily use good quality stainless pots and pans. My husband has owned them for at least 10 years and they still look brand new. We use Bar Keepers Friend on them after almost every use to keep the surface like new.
Learning to cook on stainless can take a little practice if you are used to non stick but its great once you get used to it and then you don't have to worry about the chemicals that are released from non stick surfaces. I just ordered a Le Creuset dutch oven and I can't wait to try it!!!
