Re: my brest friend or boppy?

I used the Boppy now and then for breastfeeding, but mostly it has just collected dust. I would have loved to have had a MBF!
Maybe I'll dust off the Boppy and try it for some of these other uses you all have mentioned, or for breastfeeding again now that DS is too heavy to cradle hold and sitting him in my lap is making my nipples sore!

Re: my brest friend or boppy?

I have a Brest Friend and we're still using after 16 months. (Although, I do have to stuff a bed pillow underneath it for extra support for my jumbo kiddo...)

Re: my brest friend or boppy?

I had one of both and liked both at different times. For BF in my glider or at the desk and NAK I used my brest friend. For Nursing on the couch I used the Boppy, that is wear it lived.

If I had to chose one I wold pick my brestfriend. That was my DS favorite place to nap, on the that nursing pillow snuggled next to me.

Re: my brest friend or boppy?

I only had a boppy, but I LOVED it! I didn't think I'd need one at first, but I used it for almost every feeding at first and still used it probably once a day until he was a year.

Re: my brest friend or boppy?

I tried both... the boppy kept slip-sliding all over the place and I could never get it to work for us. It was, however, great for tummy time and practice sitting up when my little one was ready for trying those things.

My brest friend - I loved that it stayed put, the extra back support was wonnnnnnnderful and I liked that it was contoured to support baby. The little pocket was handy too as I always kept my phone, a cloth, a water bottle and some lanolin in there. perfect!

Re: my brest friend or boppy?

Loved using my boppy for the first few months of bfing, but used it sparadically after that. I used it some for "tummy time" with DD, and it helps to support them when they're first starting to sit up.

That said, make sure you get an extra cover! Mine has stains galore from bm, throw up, poop... you get the picture.

Re: my brest friend or boppy?

I had both the MBF and boppy.... while I liked the way the MBF positioned baby it was awkward with the strap around me. I ended up only using it for a couple weeks. The boppy was plenty supportive and overall easier to use. It also did work great for tummy time as previous posters have mentioned.

Re: my brest friend or boppy?

I did not find the Brest Friend very comfortable...hated the back strap. I have several boppies but my favorite way to nurse is laying down (on the bed, on our couch, on the carpet even!). They are good to have for the first few months, though.
