Teeth Grinder

Help! My 7 month old dd has just gotten in her top teeth and she is started to grind them throughout the day. It sounds horrible but I don't know how to stop it. Anybody else experience this?

DD2 was a grinder too. That sound makes my bones hurt *shudders* There's really not much you can do about it. My ped told me to just ignore it. She's just 'playing' with her teeth and if you give her a big reaction to it she's likely to continue to do it just to get a free show DD2 stopped doing it after about 6months if that makes you feel any better lol

It wont cause damage until its there adult teeth. DS does it every once in a while and I freaked. My Dr. told us just to ignore it and give him something to chew on instead. Its worked he doesn't do it much anymore.

Re: Teeth Grinder

It will probably stop. DD went through that phase when she first got her teeth in. It lasted a couple weeks and stopped. She does it occasionally now but rarely. I usually give her something to chew on when she does it.

Re: Teeth Grinder

DD has had this awful habit since she turned a year old. We tell her stop when we hear her doing it, but it doesn't seem to help. It comes and goes in spurts, though. She'll do it for a week or two, then go a few weeks without doing it.
