Tell me about.....

items that are typically "store bought" items that you make at home.

For example, I can not bring myself to buy a can of Spaghetti-Ohs. But, I do make something similar at home.

O pasta, organic spaghetti sauce, and cheese sauce mixed together. Spoon out onto cookie sheets, and freeze. Then, I just take out a serving when I need a quick lunch for DS.

I also make his breakfast bars, using this recipe.

I am looking for more ideas.

Ooh those breakfast bars look good except we don't use splenda.

I make my own spaghetti sauce, pizza dough, some bread, biscuits..., frozen meals are great. Enchiladas freeze great and can be throw in the oven jsut like the boxed dinners.

I can't think of anything else right now but I don't buy very many prepackaged or premade items.

We don't buy many prepackaged items either.

I am wanting to buy even less.

Re: Tell me about.....

well I am NOT much of a baker so I take as much help as I can get from the grocery for Dough pasta and breads BUT I do try to stick to Whole grains and Organic instead of Bleached as often as I can.

*I make my Own Pasta sauces then I can add as much or as Little to it for flavor as my family likes
*I make home made Mac-n-cheese instead of the boxed stuff
*I make Home made tortillas (Flour and corn)
*I make my own Re-fried beans instead of the canned stuff
*I am not the best gardener but I try and buy Fresh from the farmers market veggies and fruits instead of the grocer
*Home made trail mix is a Snap if you own a Dehydrator (which I don't)

Oh yeah. DH loves Taco Bell;'s mild sauce packets. not the store bought jarred stuff though. I found a recipe that is the closest you can get. Just freeze it in ice cube trays.
