We used to home school a long time ago, but I'm discerning whether to try again. This next year the young ones will be at the Catholic school, but perhaps the year after that, when 3yo dd will be Kindy age, and the twins will be almost preschool. We've used CHC for a year when they were first getting started for a year, but really struggled with the cost of homeschooling. I mostly just threw together my own curric based on online resources/WTM. I think I would have been more successful if I could have afforded to buy curric and stick to it. I'm just starting to pray about all this, so who knows where it'll lead?

Glad to find all you Catholic moms! I don't do facebook, but I'd love to chat on this thread about challenges of mothering many.
Welcome to DS and this thread particularly!

Right now I use a blend of mostly CHC and MODG for my 9 year old.

Nice to "meet" you
Well I'll tell you more after this year... Were not enrolled through MODG but we will be following a bit of there grade level suggestions.. I've been using CHC and I really like it but its quite light. In many ways I love that because we can add in areas of intrest soo much easier but I'm also seeing that as she gets older we might need to find something a bit more..

Re: Any Catholic mamas of many?

Another devout Catholic Mama of Many! My DH and I have four (DD 6 1/2, DS 4 1/2, DS 3, and DD 18months) and I'm due with #5 in June! I was homeschooling my eldest DD with CHC but decided to put her in public school due to getting overwhelmed with everything during a very stressful time in my family. I'm planning on continuing the public school route for now, but am not opposed to returning to homeschooling in the future.

I requested to join the FB group, too! My name is Anne Richnavsky

I requested to join, too. : )

We have two children and one on the way again. This is the first time in 4 years that I have definitely been pregnant, so I am over the moon excited! I'm not sure why it took so long, except maybe because my daughter breastfed almost to her third birthday.

My oldest is in Catholic school but I supplement with CHC and other things at home with him. I think I would like to homeschool full time and may do so in another year. It would certainly be cheaper than having multiple children in Catholic school and I love teaching.

Me!! I'm cooking baby # 7 ( Due in Sept) we homeschool as well. My oldest is going into 8th grade this coming school year and I have various grades in between. I have a amazing catholic homeschool group that I have been involved in since the beginning so we have tons to do if we choose to participate in the activity.

I'm a Catholic Mama but not of many. We have a soon to be 11 year old DD and a 6 year old DS. We lost his twin brother mid-pregnancy and haven't been able to conceive again. We are very much open to more children if God ever chooses that for us. I sent a facebook request...my name is Jen.

Re: Any Catholic mamas of many?

It is your resident "non-Catholic" Catholic mama of many here.

I got a BFP today! I am cautiously excited. I am 41 so I obviously have many additional risk factors.

Any prayers and positive thoughts for a healthy baby would be very much appreciated.
