How do you bath your new baby?

Just curious the different ways you all give baths to your new baby. I have a 1 month old and so far I have given her a bath in the bthrm sink lined with a towel to make it non-slip. Seems there's got to be an easier way since she can't yet hold her head up. I'm all thumbs. My DH has to help every time. He's the holder and I'm the washer. I"m starting to think buying a baby bathtub would make this much easier but how long do you use those before they outgrow them?

I think we stopped using our tub around 6 mos. After that DD just came into the shower with me.

A really nice way to bathe a newborn is to get into the warm tub youself, and get your DH to hand you the baby. You can cradle the baby on your thighs (her head on your knees) and wash her, and then DH can take her out and dress her, while you add a little more hot water and have a bit of a relaxing bath to yourself.

I used a baby bath tub up until I got the Tummy Tub. I didn't feel like my baby was submerged enough in the normal infant tubs, and he was getting cold.

I never bought a baby tub after my first, I just used the sink/towel. It never took long to bath and infant so they were in and out before they got cold.

For the first month, we used this http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/re...uct/B00005JIVI[/url] in the bathtub at the opposite end as the faucet. Then we used a baby bath tub for a few months. Once DS could sit we just bathed him in the tub.

Either a baby tub or the kitchen sink. I actually prefer the sink, the baby tub is a pain to fill and empty.

I hate cold plastic baby bathtubs!

We had this for our son and we're getting a new one tomorrow for the one on the way! It's the Safer Bather by Leachco...you can get them at Burlington Coat Factory...

You know, I had thought of this and would love to do it but she's got some explosive poops. I wouldn't care if she urinated in the bath water but what if she pooped! I guess you give the bath real quick before she might go??

we honestly only used the baby bath a few times before it became a pain...then I just started having a bath with him...he loves it. He's only ever pooped once and I quickly got out lol
