what have you been using? I almost wish we could do disposbales at night, its such a pain finding the right night combo, but my dd soaks through disposables every time she wears one at night!

Re: WEEKEND Back 2 Basics...

I have been letting a lot done today considering...Daddy is gone all day today again....

We have fixed lunch and gotten dressed-I finished up an order and packed it up, printed out all my labels, picked up all the sewing stuff.

I fixed lunch and then I need to put down the baby. Hopefully then I can get some more sewing done. I need to finish up a twirl skirt and then start on my dd's quilt....

Yeah, mamazluv, I feel like I really have to work at being social. And honestly, the older I get the less I care - I have a few IRL close friends I visit and email, and that's really enough for me most of the time. But I feel like I'm setting a bad example for my kids socially, and it's getting harder to go visit my friends far away. I feel like I need to be more social locally, so I'm not the crazy hermit mom, for my, my DH's, and my kids' sake.
they wont snappi but they make great dish drying towels - my grandma taught me how to embroider them -

this is me too - poor dh likes to go out and my oldest is a social bee!

rompers yes - me! I've been hunting all over the internet for a free tutorial for infant rompers. Both my kids were "skinny" with rolls of course anyhow since this is going to be a summer baby and cant live in jammies like the other two for the first 3 months of life i wanted to make up light weight cotton overall/rompers that were at least capri length and could be used with or without a tee underneath

We're having fun hanging out, though, I love having my mom here!

MUSLIN FROM WALMARTi dont know who mentioned it, but it isnt the same thing your thinking of. the muslin you get at walmart or joanns is more likea sheet. they are cotton, but when they get wet, they do nothing, except stick to you. if you want to try it, i just wouldnt invest much.... but i did see flour sacs at sams.... they were 37x42 or something, very big. and they were $10 for a dozen. i almost got some, but remembered i dont really like flats, and i dont know if they would snappi.

The only flats i like are the guaze ones from integrity diaper company because they have a little give like pfs and quilt up like pfs

wotb: snappied pf under dappi pull on (like always lol)

okay I have to get busy sewing - just need to put the pockets on my apron and then I'm going to choose a pillowcase for the dress and hopefully finish the upcycled jeans all during nap - may the please sleep at least 1.5 hrs today!!!!

Re: WEEKEND Back 2 Basics...

Good morning ladies. I don't have much time to read everything, but I wanted to comment about the social gatherings that Cheryl mentioned. The mom's from my playgroup and I get together at someone's house and do a craft thing. Everyone brings whatever they're working on and we help each other out if we can or just chat. There are usually snacks and sometimes wine. It's a lot cheaper and just nice to get away from the kids. Maybe you could suggest getting together at someone's house...even if it is just to hang out and chat if they're not into crafting.

I've tried a Patooshie Pants fitted with hemp doubler, a LL prefold with LL preemie doubler, and a Disana Tie Nappy

I'm the same way! No RL friends everybody ran when I got married/pregnant at 20. I've gotten to the point where I just don't care right now.
