Thanks Mama, I found 1 bag in our freezer dated for Mar. 30th, so I guess I better toss it. I don't have my receipt so can I take it back to the store or am I out of luck?

It might depend on the store....our grocery (Publix) has taken things back even without a receipt, but I know other stores aren't as lenient. With a recall, they might anyway though.

When I saw that one of the stores was Stop & Shop I got worried because that's where we shop and I just had potatoes the other night! But they were fresh mashed potatoes, not frozen...whew! Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah we had some of the hash browns this week (not sure of the exact date on them since we tossed the package), although not from either of those 2 stores....not sure why it's apparently only 2 stores. I think all the products listed are fresh (though I'm pretty sure you can freeze them too), but no mashed potatoes, so you're still okay. I'm trying not to worry too much about the hash browns we ate since they were thoroughly cooked, but I'll be staying away from them for a while!

Ours were homemade mashed potatoes from whole all-purpose potatoes, that's what I meant to say.

Re: some potatoes recalled for listeria

Is it only from those two stores?? Or should we take back them back no matter where we purchased them?
