My dd won't eat food

unless it is real food, it can't be mashed or pureed. She wants nothing to do with me feeding her from a spoon. Do you all have any ideas on what solids I could give her. My mom suggested letting her chew on a carrot, but that scares me. Any ideas?

Ashley, check out my new blog

Re: My dd won't eat food

stew. the veggies are soft from cooking, you get a bit of everything. We didn't do babyfood at all with the last 2 kids. My youngest didn't eat much at ALL until he was 15-18 months old. He's a big kid and did just fine nursing for almost all of his needs.
asparagus (cooked)
steamed veggies
fruits boiled until soft then cooled
dry cereal
diced sandwiches
soups and stews (can be drained)
refried beans
toast slivers
(you can use mashed veggies as dips for chicken or pretzels, as spread on toast or sandwiches or crackers)

Re: My dd won't eat food

Kylie did that at 9 months, the 1st time we gave her some "table food" she wouldnt take baby food after that. I just cut it up very very small. She was always a good chewer and stuff from very young so I wasnt that concerned with her. She just recently started eating applesauce and mashed potatoes again.
