Question sling or pouch? I don't know the diff!!

Help!!

I have a Mei Tai, and am wanting another type of carrier for easier in and out when needed for the baby (5mo) I like the idea of pouch, and not crazy aboutt he ring thing...

What is the best? I am a size 16 too, so not sure if that would play a role....
What is everyone's favorite?

Thanks!!!

I love my pouches! What is your measurement from shoulder to hip (thats how most pouches go on size!) I have a 25" inch one if you wanna try it

Pouch! I think they are easier to use as long as you get the right fit ('cause there are no rings to hassle with)

I love my slinglings pouches! They are a great price too.

I like ring slings because they are adjustable. I can have her up nice and high to carry around or lower her if shes hungrey. I do like a well fitted pouch too, but the only one I have tried that I really liked the fit of was a HS size 2. but there would be no way to feed her in that.

Re: sling or pouch? I don't know the diff!!

For me I much prefer RS, I found it hard to find the right fit, I always meaured 27" and all the pouches I got were too big, IE: my DD hung lower than I would like, so I tried several more and found out that 23" is my prefered size...
Ringslings aren't all bad, I shunned them for a LONG time, but now I wouldnt give em up for anything, easy to use, adjust. You can choose a short tail or long, its up to you! I use em for a harness too if DD wants to walk, or as a high chair, or a bag for the coats and hats, lol or sippys...

If you have a local NINO, you can always try them out there before buying.
And I agree, your little boys shouldnt be squished if he is in a seated position! check out www.nineinnineout.org to see if there is a group local to you! HTH

I love my pouches best Mostly for the compactness factor, if that's even a word Like pp have said, you have to be careful with sizing though. There are some adjustable size pouches however, my favorite is Mom and Me Creations Pea in a Pod pouch on HC (it's made of hemp fleece and has a row of adjustable snaps along the back). There's another one called Mamma's Milk that's adjustable, haven't tried one though.

RS's are handy too, and alot more adjustable, but I have never gotten the hang of the rings for some reason! And it's more fabric to deal with. Alot of mama's love theirs though.

HTH!

Re: sling or pouch? I don't know the diff!!

I loved our Peanut Shell Fleece pouch. Very easy to use and so comfy. But I find as the LOs get bigger the one-shoulder carries don't do it for me anymore. I find that using a wrap, and pretying before I leave the house works really well. There are some ties you can do that you leave on and can pop baby in and out. This works well for shopping, etc. Or you could try an Ergo. One of my fav poppable carriers. I couple of buckles and your done. Very poppable. HTH. GL...

I like my sling. I borrowed a pouch from a friend and my back hurt like crazy after using it. And Apollo's fat legs were all scrunched up. They're not very versatile like wraps are.
