Here's mine:

Brown 1 pound ground beef
Line bottom of 13x9 pan with ground beef
mix two cans mixed veggies (or equivalent of frozen veggies) with one can cream of chicken soup (you can subsitute ANY cream soup)
Layer on top of ground beef
Layer one bag of frozen tater tots on top
Sprinkle 8 oz. shredded cheese on top
Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes.

I really like this recipe, you can adjust the ingredients to your taste

Layer of ground beef, layer of mashed potatoes, layer of tator tots, layer of shredded cheese. Yeah, it's alot of starch but I just serve some veggies on the side. It's really good with ketchup.

Re: tater tot casserole recipie anyone?

This is my version...more of a breakfasty type of casserole.

1 bag frozen tator tots
1 can cream of potato soup
1 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 tsp salt
6-8 pieces of crumbled fried bacon
2 cups cheddar cheese/divided
1/4 cup parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingrediants except 1 cup cheddar cheese. Butter 9 x 13 pan and put potato mixture in buttered pan. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes. Take out and sprinkle with remaining 1 cup of cheese. Put back in the oven for 5-10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and browned.

After I posted this, I realized that this was my hash brown casserole, not my tator tot one, lol! This is a great recipe when you use frozen hash browns, not tator tots. I have no idea if it would work with tator tots?! I"m such a goober sometimes!

Thanks so much. I did see the Dugger recipie but theirs serves like a zillion and I'm not good at cutting down recipies. I have to follow them exact or it won't work for me. Please keep the suggestions coming. Thanks

Mine's super easy and my DH loves it a little too much, IYKWIM.

1 lb hamburger, brown in skillet with salt, pepper and a touch of garlic salt
Add 1 can cream of mushroom
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Stir/mix until cheese melts

Pour into 13x9 greased pan. Top with tator tots. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes and broil for 2-3 to crisp tots. Let sit for a few minutes before serving - it's super hot.

Well my tater tot casserole is in the oven as I type this. I put ground beef, onions, creme of chicken soup, evaporated milk, veggies, cheese and tots. Yum yum. I basically took ideas on how to do it from different people then made it to our tast. I hope it turns out good. It sure smells good. I'll keep you posted.

Well, I've cooked it and eaten it and now the kitchen is clean. I don't think I'll make it again. It wasn't a fave. of mine. I can see how some people love it but I just didn't have a taste for it. It was good but not great. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Re: tater tot casserole recipie anyone? (Updated)

The tater tot casserole I make is one of my dh's favorite meals. It's as follows:
1 lb browned ground beef (drained)- add a little salt and pepper to the meat
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
bag of shredded cheese (we like the colby/jack kind)
bag of tater tots

You get a rectangular glass baking dish (I use 11x7 I think)- add the ground beef and both cans of soup and mix together. Then you sprinkly a nice even layer of the shredded cheese over that (we like lots of cheese here) and after that cover that layer with tater tots. Try and arrange them so very little of the cheese is showing. That's it. Pop it in the oven at the temp the bag of tater tots suggests and cook for 20-30 minutes. I broil it for the last few minutes so the tater tots are nice and crispy. We don't put veggies in ours. That would ruin it according to dh.
