Re: Girl name or boy name?

I picked other becuase I think it could be used for either a boy or a girl. At first glance I thought girl though You could call her Emme (or emmie or whatever spelling you like) for short instead of Emma??

The only Emerson I know is a girl - she spells it Emersyn which makes it bit more girly.

I think it can be used for both genders. I wanted to use it as a girls name, but DH didn't like it so we're going with Emrie instead!

Re: Girl name or boy name?

I Emerson for a girl! I would name my own DD emerson. (Seems DH only makes boys though ).

I know a girl named Emerson and she is a doll.

I wouldn't worry at all about it being similar to your sister's name... I think that is neat. FWIW my sister and brother both have son's named Johnathan (both spelled in that way as well). They like the name and my dad is John so it is a tribute to him as well.

Re: Girl name or boy name?

I think it's GN but leaning toward a girls name. To me it seems that GN tend to go to the girls over the years. Think: Lindsay, Stacey, Tracy, Kelly etc... they used to all be GN!

If you like it, I think you should use it. I like it myself

I know one Emerson which is a girl... but I like the spelling above, which would help make it more feminine.... also, you could have her nickname be Emrie which is different enough than Emma..
