first off i think its me super hard water but i have some fitteds that just feel crunchy (if that makes sense), not plushy like they once were. do i just need to strip them? what can i do with the hard water? or is the crunchiness totally normal

Re: fixing crunchy diapers?!

We have hard water here, too. What I do is add vinegar in a downy ball to my hot wash cycle. The vinegar is released in the rinse cycle of course. It has made a world of difference in how things come out. MUCH softer! If you hang your dipes, toss them in the dryer for a bit while they are still a little damp and it will also help to soften them. Many mamas here recommend dryer balls. I've never used them, but they are supposed to be really good for softening by beating them.
