Re: Bum Genius snap conversion tutorial

I've seen people do two rows of snaps, too. Is one row sufficient?

This was talked about earlier in the thread. Maybe this link will help:

I found one row was totally sufficient. I didn't have any problems at all. I did do 2 snaps on the wings though.

Re: Bum Genius snap conversion tutorial

Thanks so much for this! I'd love to get started, but can't find the snaps anywhere. I've been to Michael's and Joann's. Any suggestions as to where I can get the snaps?
Thanks!

http://www.kamsnaps.com/Standard-Long-Prong-Snaps-c7/

They have custom colors that start with the code "BG" that match the PUL.

Also, if you only have a few and don't want to spend the $ on getting whole sets, I put an ad up in FSOT asking if anyone had any snaps left over from a project that were specifically BG matched snaps. Sure enough, I was able to get some from another momma.

ETA: Here's a better link: http://www.kamsnaps.com/Plastic-Snap...naps-p111.html if you scroll down you can see the BG colors.

I'm sure there's other places to buy them.

Re: Bum Genius snap conversion tutorial + improvised snap plier mount!

Will these work? I think it says for sizes 15 & 16. What size snaps do I purchase?
OK, I just had the time to read the whole thread. Someone recommends using size 20 snaps Is this too big for a small BG dipe?
What size did you use Leila?
Thanks much!!

Re: Bum Genius snap conversion tutorial

Sorry, they won't work. Apparently they will rust as they aren't designed to be washed as frequently as the resin snaps.

And no, you can't use those pliers for the resin snaps as they do something different. The resin ones have a prong in the middle which gets smooshed (you can see this as the bump in the middle of the snap), whereas the Joann's type has the prongs in a different place - round the perimeter, I think.

I used a size 20 which is the standard size I believe.
