Re: Do you use baby powder?

I don't at home, but my daycare provider uses it on my 2 y/o. It keeps her rash free and fresh-smelling. She hasn't had problems with it.

Re: Do you use baby powder?

It is now recommended that you do not use powder on babies at all because of the risk of aspiration. It can be detrimental to their little lungs. Good for your husbands' smelly feet (and, apparently, another area) though!

I didnt use any on them as infants. Now, I'll use the burts bees talc free powder on my toddlers bum/parts and my preschooler's bum/parts after baths. I think it makes them feel nice and dry.

Re: Do you use baby powder?

i use it with every change. i like to prevent diaper rash so it doesn't become an issue. my son's bum prefers to be nice & dry otherwise the skin really reacts.

oh, if you want an alternative to keeping baby's bum dry without powder, fleece liners work wonders.

My mother never did & neither do I. When I was discharged my son came with instructions (LOL!) and they advised against powder.

Re: Do you use baby powder?

yes, carefully- ie, I either put it in my hand and rub it on, or I shake it very carefully. Cali Baby has talc-free powder that works wonders on rashes and is safe for CDs.
If DD is really rashy, Johnson's medicated powder clears her up almost instantly.

we were told the same thing by the NICU nurses and also again by our daughter's pulm.
