When you are engorged do you feel feverish?

Little man has not gotten up to eat the past 2 nights (good thing, right?). Well my left side today is very engorged and I am feeling feverish, is this normal? I've been trying more to feed him off that side today but it's not helping.

No, not usually. Could you have mastitis? Feverish, flu like symptoms...maybe check that out.

Oh, I hope it's not mastitis but that's how it usually felt for me. I started with engorgement and then a fever popped up. Then it was just downhill from there. I'm thinking of you, mama! XOXO

Re: When you are engorged do you feel feverish?

I came down with it over a weekend and I ate raw cloves of garlic. I cut them up into pill-sized bits and swallowed them whole. Of course, you run the risk of baby not liking the new flavor of the milk and making it worse. My kids never cared though and it did help. I would get it diagnosed and then try garlic before getting my RX filled for antibiotics. I would just rather smell like garlic than have yeast infections. lol Good luck and KUP!

Take a warm shower and massage the engorgement out if you can. If it hasn't gotten to mastitis yet, you might be able to push the clogging out. Of course increase your water intake dramatically and rest. Mama. There are more things you can do but I can't think of them off hand.

I did this and my breast feels a lot better but still sore.

I called dh because I am SO sick, he is coming home early. I hate for him to do that .

I really have a high pain tolerance but this feverish feeling I can't handle.

I will have to check into that garlic thing too, ty, I never heard of doing that.

Sounds like it's already become mastitis Mama. Please try to rest and get to a doc ASAP.

BTW - if you get on antibiotics, try to do some thrush prevention cuz it would suck to get that too...
