yellow spit-up??

from ebf baby??? my dd just spit up yellow seedy looking stuff...is this bad????

Maybe it was kind of like curdled milk from her stomach? Maybe she actually threw up and didn't just spit up so it had been sitting in her stomach awhile. I don't know but if it only happens once, I wouldn't worry. If it continues to happen, I'd give the dr. a call.

When dd was little and only bf she got really sick and started throwing up yellow which is bile (sp?)we had to take her to the ER and she was put on an IV. Im not sure if this would be the same as our dd had a fever and was not feelig well. DD was acting very ill. Id call the pedi and ask. HTH

i called the dr, but as usual they havent called back 4 hours later!!! she feels a little warm but its probably only bc addy covered her up w/a minky blankie so she wouldnt be cold i love it when 2 year olds help...like putting the thermometer up....

I'd try calling back again but Im not a very patient person Do you have an advice nurse you can call? Yellow is normally from eating something yellow or it could be bile or severe reflux according to one site I found :

Warning signs of severe reflux:Inconsolable or severe fussiness or crying associated with feedings. Poor weight gain, weight loss, or failure to thrive. Difficulty eating. Breast/food refusal. Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, hoarseness, chronic nasal/sinus congestion, chronic sinus/ear infections. Spitting up blood or green/yellow fluid. Sandifer’s syndrome: Baby may ‘posture’ and arch the neck & back to relieve reflux pain--this lengthens the esophagus and reduces discomfort. Breathing problems: bronchitis, wheezing, chronic cough, pneumonia, asthma, aspiration, apnea, cyanosis.

we know she has reflux(preemie) but is unmedicated bc she gains a TON of weight so dr doesnt think its necessary
