Starting Solids - EC payoff....

O.k.. I just want to say that after all these months of part-time ECing (EC at home with the use of cloth diapers - since DD was 8 weeks old) catching the first HUGE sticky BF to solids transitional poop makes it all worthwhile.

Definitely agree! We had a couple slip ups after she started solids and I don't know how mamas clean those poopy booties every day!

I love EC

I totally agree! I'm not catching every poo cause we go out a lot, but even just catching some of them is so nice compared to wiping off this transitional poop! Yuk!

Re: Starting Solids - EC payoff....

DS is almost 6 months so we'll be starting to introduce some solids in a few weeks. This is a great reminder that we need to step up the EC. We started when he was two weeks old, and it's generally been going well. But I feel like we've really slacked off the past few weeks.

Starting today I'm putting the fitteds on the shelf in the afternoons, and wearing my babe in nothing but a long sleeve shirt, prefold & socks or legwarmers, and taking him to the potty every half hour or so!!!

Yep... it's even better when you catch the 3rd, 4th, 5th etc!!!! I am finding it easier to see the signs now that she has started solids. It is so much fun to finally be able to communicate with her as I always had trouble trying to figure out when she needed to go and only 'caught' by taking her 'pot-pot' so often

This is exactly why I EC with my baby!! Now I just have to start catching those poops before she gets solids in the next few months.
