It sounds to me like it's the detergent. What's the fleece made out of? My guess is polyester - same as PUL. Good luck! I've been there!

I like the Whipped Shea from Northern Essence. It makes my hands a little greasy after I put it on my LO, but it works really well for where the PUL rubs on his skin.

Oooh - you live in my husband's home town.

You probably don't need another bum cream reco, but I LURVE MT Diaper store's Magic Stick. Holy cow, it's great. Plus, it's like a giant chapstick so you don't get any on your hands. Has calendula and clears up redness almost immediately.

http://www.mtdiaperstore.com/product...roducts_id=312

What detergent are you using, btw?

LOL! He is from CT huh? Nice...

I was *just* looking at the Magic stick last night and thinking that it may work. Too many choices!! LOL!

I just bought Allens- Holy cow- that stuff is EXPENSIVE!! I hope I'll be able to find something cheaper - I would love to use Planet or Country Save, but I cant find either locally. I did find Soap Nuts, but I am hesitant about those- I have heard they have caused problems-
Oh, I was using Tide powder- the free and clear.

What part of GA are you from? I am a Clemson girl, but spent lots of time in GA- LOVE it! I miss the south....

This happened to us, exactly the same way, when we tried Tide Free as an experiment. It has stopped since switching back to Allens and Mountain Green baby free and clear. It was not the PUL, but the Tide that was the problem.

In the meantime, what helped was to totally coat the leg and waist rings with Aquaphor or lanolin. It really helped it heal much faster.

Now we have no problems with the PUL touching the skin. It actually happened even more when we used wool covers, which made me sad b/c I loved them so much. I think the wool, though soft, made even more friction.
