DH has "DEMANDED"...

...that I nap when our LOs nap from now on! Even if it means a messy house.

My DS has been terrible about STTN (he's only 7 mos old but it's been a long 7 mos w/no sleep) and the other night I couldn't take it any more and I went in his room (he was screaming bloody murder), gave him his paci (still screaming), walked out (still screaming), closed the door (screaming), went to our room (screaming louder now), closed the door behind me (crying harder), crawled into bed and started sobbing. DH got up and cared for him but afterwards he told me that I NEED to start sleeping during the day whenever I can b/c he's worried about my physical and mental health. He's so caring. Does he realize what a disaster our home will be??! He says it doesn't matter, he cares more that I get some rest. Can I just say how much I love my DH???!

(And, for the people who will say "why does your DH get to tell you what to do?!" I'm actually relieved he's "told" me what to do in this instance. I'm one of those people that can't put something down unless I'm pried away from it!)

This is one "demand" I'm happy to oblige to!

Totally understood. For the last 2 days my oldest hasn't wanted to sleep.. at all. So last night was the first decent nights' sleep in a while (that is.. still waking up every 3 hours to nurse DS#2)... but I fully plan on napping with them today.. the house can wait. My house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy.

DH "demands" me to be off the internet by setting restrictions that shut off the connection! I'm like, I need someone to make me let go of things. I got a LOT done yesterday when DH had my internet off all day!

LOL! I think I'd be pretty mad if DH cut my internet tho! This is the most grown up interaction I get throughout the day!

Oh, I was . I was more mad that he didn't tell me, the first time, than anything! I've gotten used to it - for the most part, the internet is on during the day. He has it turn off at 10:40, so I'm not up all night. Except once I don't have the internet, I finally get myself to be productive and do some mega house cleaning while everyone's asleep (DH works nights)! So I end up going to bed late anyway.

Way to go to your DH! Sometimes as mammas we forget to take care of ourselves. This shows he is paying attention.

Been there. Doesn't work for me because dd at 3.5 years old doesn't take naps unless she is sick. So, if you can take a nap when ds is asleep more power to you. It DOES get better though just hang in there.

I think this is the root of it all! Way to go, DH. I got a back massage last night because I was so tense and exhausted... thank goodness for my partner.

Yay for your DH! That's great! My DH tells me to do the same thing all of the time especially now while I'm working on getting DH to sleep in his crib all night. But it's easier said than done! I tried to lay down this morning but I closed my eyes for 15 minutes and DS was awake.
