What do you use to make your cloth Diapers?

I am wanting to make my own cloth diapers, but i don't know what I should use on the inside of the diaper. I really want a diaper that hold well, but I also don't want to spend too much. What do you use and how many layers do you use? Thnaks.

The craft chat section has a weekly home made diaper making thread that is VERY informative!

Re: What do you use to make your cloth Diapers?

Ooh, that question could be answered in sooo many ways I make my own CD's and I use a bunch of different materials depending on what types of dipe I'm making. I LOVE bamboo fleece for an absorbent material. Cotton sherpa is ggod as well but not as trim. Hemp fleece works very well but tends to get stiff and crunchy. You can also use microfiber towels from the Auto section at Walmart or Target for your soaker zone, they work very well too(just don't put that next to the babies skin) Most of these fabrics do need to be ordered online. There are a lot of mamas that make diapers out of materials they have around the house such as tshirts, towels, old PF's and other things I can't even think of right now You really should go check out the Craft Chat section. It is Awesome. I learned so much there when I was getting started. Good luck to you mama and have fun! Making CD's is a blast!

OK, when I first started making fitteds I used old flannel sheets, baby blankets, fleece jackets, and towels. When I first started making pf, I used DH's old t-shirts. Now I'm not making fitteds and I like cotton, hemp, or bamboo stretch terry for the outside of pf, obv for the inside, zorb for doublers...

THanks mamas. How are you Rebekah? It has been a long time. I have been praying for you recently.
