Would you take an 8 week old swimming?

We are headed out of town for Easter tomorrow and will be staying at a hotel that has a inside heated pool. Would you take an8 week old swimming only if it were only a few min?

I would be worried that the chlorine would be too irritating to the skin

I would do it in a heartbeat. As far as the chemicals you can shower your LO and lotion them up well!

Our DS swam right after birth... It's calming to them, they have lived in water their entire lives until birth and then suddenly no more warm soothing water. Absolutely, why not? Obviously if it's not as heated as you had thought then no. Make sure to bundle up after on your way back to your room. But of course that's just mommy sense. LOL

I voted depends on the water temp. But otherwise, sure! I see it no different than a bath.

I would be worried about the chemicals used in the pool. My husband has very sensitive skin and he always gets a rash after going in a public pool. I'm not sure if they use more chemicals than our friends do in their personal pools, but it never seem to happen when not in public pool.

I would. DS was swimming regularly (mommy and me classes) from about 14 weeks.

You don't have to dunk the baby under or anything, just help them float a bit and I'll bet you have a HAPPY baby!

I second the shower and lotion after!
