I would be worried about chlorine on a young babe... but both my kids have sensitive skin.

I Took DS1 swimming as soon as his cord fell off. He loved it & even now at age 2, still loves the pool & is comfortable around water! Besides, it's not much different than a bath except the chlorine & you can wash & lotion baby up afterwards!

I asked my Ped about this when DS was little. She said to just wash him well before and after, just no lake type water or cold water. Have fun!

absolutely!!! if the umbilical cord stump has healed whats the problem? my kids are total water babies and we took them both into the water almost immediatly as we live on a lake and they were both born in the summer! if the water temp is tolerable dive in I say!

I voted depends on water temp....sometimes heated pools are really not. I have been to so many hotels that claimed a heated pool and the water was frigid. I would not put my 8 week old in one of those "heated" pools by any means.

yep def if heated. DD was born in July so after the pp bleeding stopped(TMI) we went to the pool a lot at the apartment. There was NEVER anyone there so it was relaxing. If it was busy I more than likely would not have.

no, not a fan of the chemicals, or the sun (and since you shouldn't use sunscreen on a baby that little I'd spend the whole time worrying)
