Potty regression...please help!!!!

Ok, so DS will be 3 in July. He was poop "trained" and pee "trained" when he was 19mos on his own terms (we didn't force anything) when he was 22mos.

We had DD 5 weeks ago. I really thought there would be no potty regression since he had been trained for over a year. But apparently I was wrong. He has been peeing and pooping in his pants for about 3 weeks now. Not all the time and not every time. There are some days he doesn't and some days it's every time he goes. There's no correlation to when he does it's not when I'm feeding the baby or when no one's paying attention to him.

Some examples...the other night we were sitting on the couch reading books and he just pooped in his pants. He never said he had to go and didn't even tell me he pooped in his pants. This morning, he was in the nursery at church with my cousin (who he LOVES) and pooped in his pants. This afternoon, we were all playing at my grandma's and he pooped in his pants. I had told him earlier in the day (after the church incident) the if he peed or pooped in his pants again that we would have to go home from Grandma's. So of course I had to follow through...he cried and cried! I felt bad but I couldn't not follow through after I'd told him that. I really thought that might remedy the situation, since he knew we were serious. But then he came home and peed in his pants. Then we asked all evening do you have to go, like every 1/2 hour. I just forced him to go in and try and his underwear we soaked. He's also started wetting the bed again.

I've asked him over and over why and he says he doesn't know. I am literally at my wits end. We've tried everything. We've taken away toys, made him pick a toy we took away, left grandma's, made him sit in his room, etc.

What can I do?! I hate this...please someone give me some advice!!!!!!!

Re: Potty regression...please help!!!!

Use a reward chart. We just started one this weekend with my son who is 3 and having a bit of a regression. He is very excited about it, and it is successful so far for us.
